Many people who visit the Costa Blanca look for a list of must-see places. However, the main advantage of this region is not a single specific destination, but the opportunity to explore it at your own pace.
The Costa Blanca enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year, a pleasant climate and mild temperatures for much of the year. That is why it is one of the favourite destinations for travelling by motorhome both in summer and out of season.
Some travellers prefer to spend more time by the sea, others tour different coastal villages or combine the coast with the interior of the province. The advantage of travelling in a motorhome is precisely being able to change plans on the fly and stop wherever you fancy most.
Along the route you will find places that are very different from one another. Some people prefer strolling through the streets of Altea, enjoying the views from the Peñón de Ifach in Calpe or spending a few days by the beaches of Jávea and Dénia.
Personally, one of the places I recommend the most is Guadalest. Although it is not by the sea, it is well worth the detour to enjoy the views, the reservoir and the peaceful atmosphere of this small mountain village. It is one of those places that many travellers arrive at out of curiosity and end up remembering for a long time after the trip.
Other travellers prefer to combine the coast with Benidorm or discover small inland villages less known to tourists.
For many travellers, compact models are the most practical option for exploring the coast. If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can check our Affordable motorhome hire options in Alicante.

What sort of motorhome should you choose for a trip along the Costa Blanca?
You don’t always need to hire a large motorhome to explore the Costa Blanca. Many couples and travellers opt for compact models such as Peugeot, Citroën or Fiat, as they are easier to drive, more fuel-efficient and allow you to reach most destinations along the coast with ease.
For longer journeys or for families looking for a higher level of comfort, we also have more spacious models with greater interior space and additional features.
The choice depends mainly on the number of passengers and the length of the journey. For a couple or a short break lasting several days, a compact model is usually more than enough. On the other hand, for longer journeys or family trips, some people prefer to have more interior space and storage capacity.

Frequently asked questions about travelling by motorhome along the Costa Blanca
How many days does it take to explore the Costa Blanca in a motorhome?
There’s no ideal length of stay. Some of my clients come for a week, whilst others spend three or four weeks travelling along the coast. The advantage of a motorhome is that you don’t need to decide everything before you set off. You can stay longer in the places you like and change your route as you go along
Is it easy to find parking for motorhomes on the Costa Blanca?
Generally speaking, yes. The Costa Blanca has been welcoming motorhome travellers for many years and there are plenty of parking options. In summer, some seaside areas can be busier, but my clients usually have no trouble finding somewhere to stay overnight along the route.
At what time of year is it best to travel along the Costa Blanca?
Personally, I like practically any time of year except February, which tends to be the most changeable. Many travellers come here precisely because of the weather. Even outside the summer months, it’s common to have sunny days and pleasant temperatures for travelling.
Are there campervan service areas on the Costa Blanca?
Yes. All along the coast you’ll find service areas, campsites and various places where you can empty and refill your tanks. It’s something people who are hiring a motorhome for the first time often ask me about, but in practice it’s not usually a problem in this area.
