It is the question virtually every homeowner asks me.<\/p>

Before I went into the motorhome business, I worked in the property lettings sector for over ten years. That\u2019s why I\u2019m very familiar with the concerns any landlord has before entrusting their property to someone else.<\/p>

Reality is usually much calmer than we imagine.<\/p>

I prefer to base my arguments on actual figures.<\/p>

One of my motorhomes was out on hire 95 days<\/strong> between the 7th of August and the 31st of December.<\/p>

During that time only two minor incidents occurred.<\/p>

During one of the rentals, a customer scraped a branch while manoeuvring. The repair cost \u00a3150 and was fully covered by the deposit.<\/p>

In another instance, a small crack appeared in a skylight. As it did not affect its functionality, I decided to replace it at a later date when installing a new model.<\/p>

In another motorhome, all that was needed was to replace the small plastic window latch. The part cost around \u20ac10 and the replacement took just a few minutes.<\/p>

There were no serious accidents.<\/p>

There\u2019s also something I\u2019ve learnt over the years.<\/p>

Many business owners imagine their customers completely differently to how they actually are.<\/p>

Most people who hire a motorhome are looking for nature, peace and quiet, and to travel at their own pace. For this reason, they usually treat the vehicle with a great deal of respect, understanding that it is not simply a car, but someone else's home on wheels.<\/p>

Over the years I have found that major damage is much less frequent than most landlords imagine before renting out for the first time.<\/p>
