Between August 2025 and June 2026, we analysed dozens of conversations with customers who hired a motorhome or campervan with us.<\/p>

Many of these people had never travelled in a motorhome before. Others had experience, but it was the first time they had hired a vehicle in Spain.<\/p>

When reviewing all these conversations, we discovered something interesting: most of the concerns appeared before starting the trip.<\/p>

It was not about breakdowns, roads or campsites. The most frequent doubts had to do with the booking, the deposit, the insurance, the beds or simply knowing whether the company was trustworthy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The most common confusion: deposit and excess<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

If we had to choose the most frequently asked question of the whole year, it would probably be this one.<\/p>

Many customers thought that the deposit and the excess were the same thing. Some even believed they had to pay both amounts before starting the trip.<\/p>

In several conversations, exactly the same situation came up. The customer saw a \u20ac500 deposit and a \u20ac300 excess, and thought they had to hand over \u20ac800 as a deposit.<\/p>

Reality is much simpler.<\/p>

The deposit is a temporary security payment that is refunded at the end of the rental period if the motorhome is returned in the same condition.<\/p>

The excess, on the other hand, is the maximum amount the customer would bear in the event of a claim covered by the insurance.<\/p>

After explaining this difference, the confusion almost always disappeared within a few minutes.<\/p>

The odd thing is that this question appeared both among people renting a motorhome for the first time and among travellers with previous experience.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Can I trust a direct booking?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

During our first few months of operation, we saw that many customers had the same concern: booking a motorhome with a company they had just discovered on the internet.<\/p>

Some people wanted to view the motorhome before booking. Others didn\u2019t feel comfortable making an advance booking of 30 % of the total hire cost without having met us first.<\/p>

After several conversations, we decided to change the booking system.<\/p>

Instead of requesting 30 % of the rent in advance, we began to ask for a deposit of just \u20ac100 and to formalise the arrangement by means of a contract.<\/p>

We also found that in-person visits helped a lot. When someone saw the motorhome, got to know the project and had their questions answered in person, trust naturally increased.<\/p>

Over time we observed that these measures helped particularly those who were hiring a motorhome for the first time.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

During our first year we received many requests to view the motorhome before making a booking.<\/p>

The reason was quite simple. Most of our clients had never travelled in a motorhome. Many had only seen them from the outside and could not imagine what the interior space was actually like.<\/p>

The most common doubts were very practical: where the children would sleep, how much luggage would actually fit or whether four people could travel comfortably.<\/p>

Over time, we found that an in-person visit resolved these questions in a few minutes and helped customers decide whether that vehicle was suitable for their trip.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The most important doubts did not always appear before booking.<\/p>

Many first-time customers started asking themselves new questions a few days before collecting the vehicle.<\/p>

What to pack, where to spend the first night, how the electricity works or how long a motorhome can remain self-sufficient were some of the most frequently repeated topics.<\/p>
